Vehicles in German City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Approximately 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then found numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.

A senior political figure said the vandalism rendered him stunned and required to be solved rapidly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
